The advantages and disadvantages of dry and wet water meters

1. Wet water meter

Advantages: Wet water meters are more accurate in measurement and do not exhibit demagnetization or other phenomena. Domestic application and research have a long history, mature products, and reliable metering performance. Under the same metering level, the initial flow rate and minimum flow rate are slightly better than dry type. Simple structure, convenient manufacturing and maintenance, and relatively low cost.

Disadvantages: If the water quality is poor or it is used for a long time, the dial may turn yellow or black, affecting reading. If the glass of the watch is broken, water will overflow. When the temperature difference between the inside and outside of the watch is large, mist can easily form on the glass, affecting reading. When the weather is cold, the water inside the watch glass may freeze.

2. Dry water meter

Advantages: Dry water meters are not affected by suspended impurities in the water due to their counting mechanism being isolated from the measured water, ensuring the normal operation of the counting mechanism and clear reading. At the same time, they will not cause fog or condensation droplets under the glass due to the temperature difference between the inside and outside of the meter, which affects the reading of the water meter like wet water meters. If the glass is broken, water will not overflow, ensuring good safety

Disadvantages: The structure is slightly complex and the cost is relatively high. The performance under initial flow rate and minimum flow rate is slightly inferior to wet type, and the requirements for magnetic steel technology and assembly process are relatively high. Poor treatment may cause demagnetization and the meter will not move.
