What factors should be considered for water meter installation--2
2. Convenience
The installation position of the water meter should be as convenient as possible for reading and checking, and also consider the convenience of maintenance and meter replacement.
(1) It is necessary to choose a dry, sediment resistant, underground water immersion resistant, and insect resistant location for water meters installed outdoors.
(2) When the water meter is installed underground, in order to facilitate the replacement of the water meter, two shut-off valves must be installed at both ends of the meter. The water flow area of the expansion joint installed at the front end of the water meter inlet should be 1-2 times the cross-sectional area of the water meter diameter for frequent inspection, replacement, or cleaning.
3. Correctness
The installation of water meters must comply with the requirements of their working methods, and should meet the requirements for the use of water meters in terms of installation orientation, dial orientation, and upstream and downstream straight pipe sections.
(1) Most water meters have installation method requirements. The H on the dial or nameplate represents horizontal installation, V represents vertical installation, and the absence of these two symbols indicates installation in any direction. The dial of the water meter should be upward and not tilted. The flow direction of the water meter should be consistent with the flow direction of the water inside the pipeline. Some water meters (such as volumetric water meters) can be installed in any direction.
(2) The installation of water meters should ensure that the direction of the arrow on the case is consistent with the flow direction of water in the pipeline, and should be installed coaxial with the pipeline.
(3) The dial of a horizontally installed water meter is generally facing upwards and should not tilt. The orientation of the indicator dial of the water meter cannot be adjusted solely for the convenience of reading. Explanation: Some dry water meter fishing reading indicators can rotate 360 ° for easy reading. When installing a water meter vertically or obliquely, the impeller shaft must be parallel to the centerline of the pipeline.
(4) The straight pipe sections upstream and downstream of the water meter must comply with the requirements of the user manual, especially for speed type water meters. The requirements for straight pipe sections are particularly needed for horizontal spiral wing water meters and single beam water meters. The downstream of the water meter should have a position higher than the water meter (such as a faucet) or maintain a certain pressure to ensure that the water meter always operates in a fully filled pipeline condition.
(5) The downstream of the water meter should have any pipeline position higher than the water meter position to ensure that the water meter operates under full pipe flow conditions.
