What should we do when the water meter is running out of water?

Shengda will explain to everyone what water meters should do when they are out of water:

1. Firstly, one should understand the internal and external water supply environment, and have a prior understanding of historical water consumption and payment records, which is beneficial for judging one's actual water use situation. Recheck the layout and direction of internal pipelines to determine whether they are independently enclosed, and also inspect the situation of internal water points.

2. Identification and inspection of water leaks in internal pipelines and water facilities. Observing the water meter, if the busy needle continues to rotate at a constant speed for a period of time, it can preliminarily determine whether there is water leakage inside the user, and the amount of water leakage can be determined based on the speed of the busy needle rotation. Searching for internal leakage points, such as toilets, water tanks, and water heaters, is the focus of the inspection. Methods such as dripping ink into the water tank or dipping toilet paper for testing can be used for inspection; If there are no exposed leaks, it is necessary to test the concealed pipes in the decoration.

3. Analyze and handle non internal leakage phenomena. Busy needle shaking, back and forth swinging, or intermittent slight rotation are often caused by unstable water pressure, the water meter being too close to the riser, or bubbles in the pipeline, which have little impact on metering. In case of bubbles in the pipeline, water can be discharged to eliminate the bubbles in the pipeline.

The location of the water meter does not comply with installation regulations, which can also cause disturbance to the water meter. According to the on-site space conditions, the pipeline can be modified and the distance of the straight pipe section can be extended. If the on-site conditions for renovation are not available, one-way valves or anti disturbance devices can be installed. The current common solution is to install check valves and exhaust valves.

There are probably several reasons why water meters turn when there is no water used:

There are leakage points in the internal pipeline network behind the meter, and the leakage points are relatively hidden and difficult to detect. The water meter records normally, which can be mistaken for "rotation";

Leakage or minor replenishment of internal water appliances, such as leaking toilet water tanks, loose faucets, and water heater replenishment;

The distance between the water meter and the water supply riser is too close, which can cause interference when the water pressure is unstable. According to regulations, the installation of the water meter requires a certain straight pipe section before and after the meter according to the different diameters of the water meter. However, at present, the installation position of the household meter sometimes fails to meet this standard, and changes in water pressure can easily cause interference to the impeller of the water meter. This type of "rotation" caused by this reason is relatively common;

In the water environment of multi-story buildings, some users install small pressurized water pumps on pipelines without permission, which interferes with the water pressure environment of adjacent household meters and causes them to "rotate";

When using pressurized facilities for secondary water supply in high-rise buildings, it causes significant instantaneous changes in water flow in the pipeline, unstable pressure, and interference with the water meter;

During meter replacement or pipeline construction, bubbles enter the pipeline and flow irregularly back and forth in the pipeline due to changes in internal and external pressure. When bubbles flow through the water meter, they break the balance of the impeller, causing the busy needle of the water meter to swing back and forth or intermittently rotate;

The water meter is too sensitive due to factors such as the smaller inlet box hole of the impeller, the downward direction of the impeller, and too many dense holes in the water filter mesh.
